1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PageVeil services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the service.

2. Description of Service

PageVeil is a browser extension and web service for blurring, hiding, and replacing sensitive webpage information before screen sharing, demos, recordings, and screenshots. It is available through pageveil.net and supported browser extension stores.

In these Terms, "PageVeil", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the service operator responsible for this website, browser extension, subscriptions, billing communications, and customer support. We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users when major changes affect paid features.

3. Account Registration

To use paid or account-linked features, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration details
  • Keep your account information updated
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for activity under your account
  • Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized account use

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose security risks.

4. License to Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PageVeil for personal, professional, or internal business privacy workflows.

You may not:

  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service beyond permitted use
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code
  • Use bots or abusive automation against PageVeil infrastructure
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our systems or related services
  • Copy or reproduce substantial parts of the service without permission

5. User Conduct

You agree not to use PageVeil to:

  • Violate any applicable law, platform policy, privacy obligation, compliance rule, or third-party right
  • Distribute malware, spam, or harmful code
  • Interfere with service stability, availability, or security
  • Harass, abuse, or impersonate any person or entity
  • Collect, expose, or misuse personal data without proper authorization
  • Use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activity

We may investigate violations and take action including warnings, account suspension, or account termination.

6. Payment and Billing

Subscription Fees: Some PageVeil features require a paid subscription.
Recurring Billing: Paid subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or annually) unless canceled before renewal.
Payment Provider: Payments, taxes, invoices, and payment method handling are processed by Paddle, our payment provider and merchant-of-record/payment processor where applicable.
Authorization: You authorize applicable charges to your selected payment method for subscription and renewal fees.
Price Changes: We may update pricing with advance notice before the new rate applies to your next billing cycle.

7. Subscription Management

You can manage your PageVeil subscription through your account billing area or available Paddle billing links.

  • View your active plan and renewal date
  • Update payment method and billing details
  • Switch between available plans when supported
  • Cancel future renewals
  • Access invoices and payment history

8. Cancellation and Termination

Cancellation by You: You may cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals, and access remains available until the current paid period ends.
Refund Window: Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy and processed through Paddle according to the applicable Paddle checkout and refund process.
Termination by Us: We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or create security risk.
Effect of Termination: After termination, your license to use PageVeil ends immediately.

9. Intellectual Property

PageVeil, including its software, branding, website content, and related materials, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Our Rights: No rights are transferred to you except the limited license explicitly granted under these Terms.
Feedback: If you submit ideas or feedback, you grant us the right to use it to improve PageVeil without compensation to you.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

PageVeil IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, compatibility with every website, or that PageVeil will satisfy every legal, regulatory, HIPAA, GDPR, or organizational compliance requirement.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL ARISING FROM USE OF PageVeil.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

12. Modifications to Service

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted at pageveil.net with an updated "Last updated" date.

Continuing to use PageVeil after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the jurisdiction where the service operator is established, excluding conflict-of-law principles.

Before formal proceedings, both parties agree to try to resolve disputes in good faith by contacting help@pageveil.net.
